FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

		A WORKSHOP ON L^2-METHODS IN GEOMETRY

			JANUARY 12-16, 2000

			NEW COLLEGE OF USF

			SARASOTA, FLORIDA


This workshop is devoted to current work in geometric analysis.
Topics of interest will include  

     Index Theorems 

     Traces and determinants of pseudodifferential operators and their
     applications 

     Spectral invariants including analytic torsion and Novikov-Shubin
     invariants 

     Von Neumann algebra methods in (spectral) geometry
