"Algebraic Cycles and Algebraic Geometry"

                   May 23-29, 2001

   A joint meeting of the AMS and SMM [Mexican Mathematical Society]
   will be held during May 23-26, 2001 (Thursday-Saturday), in Morelia,
   Mexico. Attached to it will be a Special Session on Algebraic Cycles
   and Algebraic Geometry, and a Plenary talk by Eric Friedlander on
   Thursday at 4PM. The Special Session has been extended to
   continue on Monday and Tuesday, May 28-29. 
   (Monday is the US holiday "Memorial Day".)

   The speakers in the Special Session are: 
   Leticia Brambila, Herbert Clemens, Lawrence Ein, Xavier Gomez-Mont, 
   Brent Gordon, Laura Hidalgo, Roy Joshua, Herbert Kanarek,
   Mexico. Attached to it will be a Special Session on Algebraic Cycles
   and Algebraic Geometry, and a Plenary talk by Eric Friedlander on
