The 

     OPENING WORKSHOP   of the 

     SYMPLECTIC GEOMETRY YEAR 1997/98 at WARWICK

will take place from 

      1-12 September 1997
      Mathematics Institute
      University of Warwick

There will be several introductory lecture series,
addressed to researchers and graduate students 
who are not necessarily experts in the field.

The topics range from 
symplectic rigidity (Polterovich,Viterbo)
and symplectic 4-manifolds (Stern) to 
Hamiltonian torus actions (Karshon) and 
quantization (Cahen, Gutt, Wolf).
